my blog has a lot of information about American wedding traditions, but weddings are really different in different places around the world! this page has a little information about Chinese weddings and Italian weddings.
in China, the bride and groom usually wear red. instead of having an elaborate wedding ceremony and reception, the wedding day is usually very simple. the bride and groom pay homage to their parents, grandparents, the earth, and gods in the form of several bows and then they drink tea.

in Italy, most if not all weddings are held in churches. the bride and groom usually walk to the church together, and there is a bow tied in May or August. it is best to be married on a Sunday. the bride should not wear gold during her engagement for good luck, if they do, it's bad luck. the gold should be worn in the form of the wedding ring!
the food at a wedding is extremely important. sometimes there are up to fourteen or fifteen courses excluding wine and cheese. there are multilayer wedding cakes, the customary, at the weddings with espresso and coffee. one of the most popular foods is Italian wedding soup. it usually contains orzo, lentils, and meatballs.
